Who am I? I’m an entrepreneur, software architect, and consultant by trade and a photographer, guitarist, adventurer by hobby.
I’ve spent the last decade of my life consulting fortune 500 companies, which has been a tremendously enriching learning experience. Though I’ve been with the same consulting company for 10 years, I feel like I’ve worked in 15+ different jobs (because I have). I’ve gotten to see examples of exactly what to do and examples of what not to do. I’ve worked as a solo developer and an application architect leading large teams of developers spread across the world.
A few years ago I read ”The 4-Hour Work Week” and was intrigued by how a single person could run a multinational company. It made a lot of sense to me since I’d see the shift to outsourcing in my consulting job. I believed that it could work, but when my long time friend Brandon Kennington actually created a small business based on these principles, I knew I could do it too. I created Momenta, LLC to try out several different business models. It really is my sandbox for trying new things an learning, or as I like to call it “My Small Business MBA”.
While working on various business ideas, I spent a lot of time sharing ideas with Brandon. We had some great conversations about the best way to do things in a small business, and we both learned a lot from sharing this information. We realized that we weren’t the only ones struggling with these issues and other people probably didn’t have anyone to bounce ideas off of, or learn from. The “Automate My Small Business” podcast was born to remedy this need.
In my personal life I’m an avid photographer, and love travel photography. These two passions I enjoy sharing with my wife Tracy.
